The 800-CT8-LP expansion module for the
UMG 800 series offers the capability to expand a main module from the UMG 800 series with
2 groups of 4 current measuring channels for connecting 8 additional
low power current transformers. The use of multiple modules is possible to further increase the number of current measuring channels in the measurement installation. The module utilises the JanBus interface for communication with the main module.
The module can be easily connected to the main module using a click system with integrated JanBus interface connections. Once the module is clicked onto the DIN rail, it can be slid against the main module or another module with an integrated JanBus connection. Due to these integrated connections, no cables are needed for the interconnection of the modules. After connection, the module is automatically recognised by the main module and the status can then be read via the 3 LEDs on the front. The configuration can be easily done on the main module or via software such as GridVis.
The current measuring module is compact in size and is only 1 TE wide. The module is only suitable for low power current transformers with a 333mV output voltage and is not suitable for direct current measurements.
